The First Description of the Larva in the Genus Sinodiapterna Dellacasa, 1986 (Coleoptera, Scarabaeidae, Aphodiini)

The larva of a species of Sinodiapterna Dellacasa is described and illustrated for the first time. According to the larval characters, the genus Sinodiapterna is closely related to the genus Diapterna Horn, 1887 in the absence of symmetric rows of spinules on the anal sternite and in the presence of stridulatory teeth on the palpifer, but differs in the chaetotaxy of the maxillae. Among the known Palaearctic Aphodiini larvae, the described larva is similar to that of the genus Eupleurus Mulsant, 1842 in the presence of a single patch of spinules on the anal sternite and in the first antennomere longer than the second one but differing in the chaetotaxy of the head capsule and clypeus and in the arrangement of spinules on the anal sternite.
