The Nutrition Society has as its object the advancement of the scientific study of nutrition and its application to the maintenance of human and animal health. The history of the society is recounted with specific attention given to its founding, its constitution, growth and expansion, significant meetings, and publications. Certain activities are highlighted, including the coordination of nutrition surveys, conference on supply of experimental animals, and the Royal Society of Health Examination Committee. A list of past and present officers of the Nutrition Society is included.
