Bio Efficacy of Flubendiamide 20% WDG (Takumi) Against Cotton Bollworms
2012
A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of flubendiamide 20 WDG against cotton bollworms during 2008–2009 and 2009–2010 seasons at MainAgricultural Research Station, Raichur. The efficacy was evaluated @ 25, 50, 75 and 100 g a.i./ha in comparison with spinosad 45 SC (Tracer) @ 75 g.a i/ha and indoxacarb 14.5 SC @ 75 g a.i./ha. Flubendiamide 20 WDG @ 100 g a i./ha recorded lowest bollworm incidence (8.82 and 5.84%) with highest good opened bolls (23.83 and 30.93 per plant respectively) during 2008–09 and 2009–10, which was at par with its lower dosage (75 g. a i./ha) and spinosad 45 SC @75 g. a i./ha. Higher good opened bolls resulted in higher seed cotton yield of 14.75 and 13.82 q/ha respectively during both the years, which was on par with spinosad 45 SC @ 75 g a i./ha. Thus flubendiamide 20 WDG @ 75 g a i./ha was found to be effective.
