Descriptions of Mononchoides karwiensis sp. n. and M. microdens sp. n. (Nematoda: Diplogastrina) from Karwi, North India

Two new species of Mononchoides, M. Karwiensis and M. microdens are described and illustrated from polluted ponds at Karwi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Mononchoides karwiensis sp. n. is recognized by its females having 1.0-l.5 (1.3) mm long body; c = 2.1-2.6 (2.35), c' = 21-29 (24.7), stoma 19-26 (22.5) μm long carrying a large dorsal tooth occupying 75-90 percent of stoma lumen width. Vulva is located at 31-37 (32.7) percent of body length, vulva to anus distance 200-320 (270) μm; tails in female 400-650 (504) μm long and males have spicules 34-38 (35.4) μm and gubernaculum 13-18 (14.8) μm in length. Mononchoides microdens sp. n. females have body 0.80-1.03 mm long, a = 30-42 (34); b = 6.1=7.9 (7); c = 3.0-3.7 (3.3); c' = 15-19 (17.2); V = 38-47 (42.5)., stoma 11-14 μm or about one head width long and males have spicules and gubernaculum 22-24 μm and 10-12 μm long, respectively.
