Sodium Accumulation and Sodium Responses of Five Varieties of Barley
1965
Shourbagy, N. E. | Wallace, A.
SynopsisModerate levels of sodium increased the yields of 5 varieties of barley an average of 28% when grown in solution culture. A high level decreased yields for 4 of the 5 varieties. This level in most instances decreased Ca and Mg contents in tops and roots and that of K in roots. Na²² was readily translocated to shoots of all varieties and translocation was not influenced by anion source when Na²² was supplied at a low level or by temperature.
