Haemangiopericytoma is a spindle cell sarcoma arising from the pericytes of blood vessel wall. It is rare tumour of large sized dog breeds often seen in the subcutis of limbs, thorax and abdomen. A five year male German Shepherd dog with subcutaneous swelling over the thorax was reported. On physical examination, the mass was firm and moveable in the subcutis of right dorsolateral thoraco-abdomen and was excised surgically. Cytologically, tissue impression smear revealed short stumpy spindle cells with vacuolations in the cytoplasm and presence of multinucleated crown cells. Histologically, neopalstic cells were arranged as whorls forming finger print appearance around the capillaries. Based on the cytological and pathomorpholoical studies, the tumour was diagnosed as haemangiopericytoma. This case reports the occurrence of haemangiopericytoma in a five year old dog.
