Uniform stands essential in field pea variety tests
1927
Hulbert, H.W.
Pea varieties should be seeded at a rate which will insure uniform stands per unit area. The stand producing maximum plant yields does not produce the highest acre yield. Apparently, 3 to 3 1/2 plants per square foot constitutes the proper stand for conditions in northern Idaho. The results secured from drill calibration studies will be of value in making rate-of-seeding recommendations.
