THE Role of plants as a factor affecting oviposition by aphidoletes aphidimyza (diptera: cecidomyiidae)
1975
MANSOUR, M.H.
A colony of Aphidoletes aphidimyza (Rond.) was reared on brussels sprouts infested with Myzus persicae (Sulz.) for many generations. In the present investigation, females laid more eggs on brussels sprouts than on artificial leaves. The majority of eggs was laid on the underside even if it was the morphological upper surface. Brussels sprouts was preferred against turnip cabbage, sugar beet and beans but not against oil-radish for oviposition. After three generations on turnip cabbage, leaves of turnip were slightly preferred against brussels sprouts.
