The strawberry fruit is delicious and sweet; it is very popular among consumers. However, its high water content makes it susceptible to mechanical injury and microbial infestation, leading to spoilage and deterioration. Therefore, proper post-harvest preservation methods play an important role in enhancing its economic value. We conducted a scientific analysis on the influence of different films packaging on strawberry fruit quality, to provide a technical basis and theoretical support for the storage and preservation of strawberries during the post-harvest shelf life and the industrial production of environmentally friendly plastic films. A twin-screw extruder and films blowing machine were used to prepare polyglycolic acid (PGA)/polybutylene adipate (PBAT) biodegradable composite membranes. The effect of composite films on the fresh-keeping quality of strawberry was studied. We observed that the 80 % PGA/20 % PBAT group could effectively inhibit the increase in polyphenol oxidase activity and H₂O₂ content; delay the decrease in superoxide dismutase, catalase, and ascorbate peroxidase activities, total phenol, total flavonoid, soluble solid contents and sensory scores. Additionally, PGA group could delay POD activity and pH decrease. Thus, biodegradable plastic films with a high PGA content are highly conducive to strawberry preservation, especially the 80 % PGA/20 % PBAT plastic films.
