A 10 week computer/nutrition course was developed for college nutrition majors. Six course objectives include running a microcomputer and accessing a program; collecting and analyzing diet records; listing food items in a diet as to major energy and nutrient sources and food cost; writing, inputting and using simple programs on the computer; describing eating patterns based on group statistics in food and nutrition terms; and designing and analyzing institutional menus and concurrent administrative functions. The course outline is presented along with the specific weekly topic/lecture content and laboratory activities. (kbc)
