Total biomass and nutrient content was analyzed in 11 'UC 157' asparagus plots in the Ica Valley between 2006-2008 to determine correlation with yield, nutrient concentration and nutrient interactions in the foliage. Yield did not show a clear correlation with biomass produced and nutrient concentration in the foliage. However, there was a direct relation between phosphorus and potassium content with nitrogen content in the biomass. In the same pattern, iron with phosphorus and calcium with boron.
