The place of milk in the dietary of the elderly
1978
Davies, Louise | Holdsworth, M. Diane
A dietary survey was conducted in a town on the south coast of England where approximatley 300 elderly men and women were receiving meals-on-wheels twice weekly. Results of the survey indicate that milk and milk products play an important role in the diet of the elderly. Mean nutrient intakes of protein and calcium were generally satisfactory, but the mean figures disguise wide ranges of nutrient intakes, some notably low. Milky drinks which are acceptable to the elderly could improve their nutritional status. Tables present data.
