Relationship between Socio-economic Characteristics of Brinjal Growers with their Adoption Gap in Production Practices

The present research study was conducted in Parbhani district of Maharashtra state. From this district two talukas viz. Parbhani and Purna were selected purposively. Five villages from each taluka were selected purposively comprising ten villages were selected for this study. From each village six brinjal growers were selected comprising total 60 respondents for the research work. Data was collected with the help of interview schedule. Simple statistical techniques like frequency, percentage, standard deviation and coefficient of correlation were used for analysis of the data. Majority of the respondents (70.00%) were from medium farming experience and had (35.00%) education up to secondary school level. Majority of the vegetable growers (41.66%) had medium land holding, medium (48.33%) annual income, medium extension contact, medium social participation, medium risk orientation, medium market orientation and medium (68.33%) knowledge level. Majority characteristics of brinjal growers had negative and significant relation with adoption gap.
