The fibre–matrix interface debonding has been considered as one of unsatisfied defects during milling carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) by multi-teeth tool, which has a special character of propagation in subsurface that still needs to be clearly known. The present paper offered a new model based on beam bending theorem and data from correlated multiple-pass cutting process to precisely describe the mechanism behind such debonding propagation. The validity and accuracy of this model were certified by proposed evaluation methods in the way of experimental results analysis. It can be inferred from results discussion that feed rate and tool radius presented the linear and non-linear proportional relations to debonding degree respectively, but tool radius had a greater impact on variation in debonding degree than feed rate, which can be well described and predicted by such model. This work put a novelty view to further recognize the debonding behaviours during CFRP milling.
