The estimates of genetic components of variances were carried out using Griffing approach in full diallel fashion including reciprocals in five diverse parents at Regional Horticultural Research Station, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari. The study clearly indicated the preponderance of sca variance for the traits like first flowering node, days to first flowering, days to 50% flowering, number of branches per plant, plant height, yield per plant and ascorbic acid except days to first picking, internodal length, days to last picking, number of fruits per plant, stem diameter, fruit length and average fruit weight. Therefore, these traits governed by non-additive gene action cab better be utilized for manifestation of heterosis. It was also ascertained that additive (²a) was higher for days to first flowering, days to 50% flowering, days to first picking, internodal length, days to last picking, number of fruits per plant, stem diameter, yield per plant, fruit length, fruit diameter, average fruit weight and ascorbic acid, which could be improved upon by simple selection.
