The present investigation entitled "Response of different organic and inorganic fertilizers on growth and yield of Okra swas conducted at the Horticultural Research Centre of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Modipuram, Meerut UP during summer season 2009. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with three replications. The experiment consisted of nine treatments with organic (FYM and Vermi compost) and inorganic (NPK) combinations. The results of present investigation indicated that the vegetative growth characters plant height, diameter of stem, number of leaves per plant, days required for initiation of first floweras well as yield contributing characters viz number of pods per plant, length ofpod, fresh weight per pod, weight of pods per plant and yield of pods (q/h) were found to be maximum in the application of treatments T4 (50 kg N 25 kg P205 and 25 kg K20 + 6 tonnes of vermicompost per ha as compared to control treatment and other treatments.
