Direct synthesis of H₂O₂ from O₂ and H₂ over precious metal loaded TS-1 in CO₂
2007
Chen, Qunlai | Beckman, Eric J.
H₂O₂ was synthesized directly from O₂ and H₂ over precious metal loaded titanium silicalite (TS-1) in compressed CO₂ and yields were measured by immediately reacting the in situ generated H₂O₂ with an “indicator”—pyridine. Experimental results proved that H₂O₂ could be effectively synthesized from O₂ and H₂ in compressed CO₂. The effects of the following factors on H₂ conversion, H₂O₂ selectivity and yield were examined: O₂/H₂ molar ratio, H₂ concentration, catalyst mass, Pd content in the catalyst and the addition of Pt to the catalyst. Under the optimal reaction conditions, H₂O₂ yield reached 31.7% with an H₂O₂ selectivity of 56.1%.
