Lack of 25-hydroxyvitamin D and 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D in human milk
1981
Greer, Frank R. | Ho, Mona | Dodson, Donna | Tsang, Reginald C.
Samples of human milk from 6 Caucasian mothers (3 to 168 days postpartum) were analyzed for 25-hydroxyvitamin D, and samples of milk from 5 other women (1 to 16 days postpartum) were analyzed for 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D. Undetectable or negligible amounts of these 2 metabolites were found in the samples, indicating that they would not contribute to the vitamin D content of human milk, or to the nutrition of infants.
