Antigen-active biopolymers with a broad molecular mass spectrum have been detected in the CF during sterile culturing of C. maltosa strain VSB-569. Both the antigens of the cell-wall surface structures and those secreted into the culture medium were identified among them. The antigen-active CF biopolymers were compared during culturing of the yeast-like fungus in flasks and fermenters. Their identities were established. The optimal conditions, under which there was maximum accumulation of antigenic material in the CF, were selected for semibatch fermenter culturing. The antigens that accumulated were found to be active in allergen testing of animals sensitized with the culture.
