The effect of endosulfan (commercial grade, 35 EC) on glycogen metabolism of a freshwater field crab, Barytelphuse guerini, was studied. In a short-term exposure of 96 hr. progressive depletion of glycogen is reflected in the activity patterns of enzymes glycogen phosphorylases a and ab. A tissue-specific and time-dependant variation in tissue glucose reserves paralleled the progressive accumulation of hemolymph sugars.
