اظهر المزيد [+] اقل [-]إنجليزي. Although it took place in northern Germany some 30 years ago, an assessment of the 1972 hurricane provides many insights and can be very thorough thirty years later. This article describes the hurricane and the damage i did. It comments on the reactions of foresters, and discusses forest restoration in the wake of the catastrophe. It shows how this major disruption led German foresters to adopt new silvicultural approaches and to mor adequately consider human influence and natural dynamics.

Bien qu'il se soit déroulé en Allemagne du Nord il y a une trentaine d'années, le bilan de l'ouragan de 1972 est riche d'enseignements et peut être effectué, presque 30 ans après, sous forme très complète. Cet article décrit ainsi l'ouragan et les dommages qu'il a créés ; il commente la réaction des forestiers, puis discute de la reconstitution des forêts après la catastrophe. Il montre comment cette perturbation majeure a amené les forestiers allemands vers de nouvelles conceptions sylvicoles et une meilleure intégration des actions humaines et de la dynamique naturelle.
