Response of oats to an increasing level of aluminum ion concentration during the juvenile period of development | Реакция овса на возрастающий уровень концентрации ионов алюминия в ювенильный период развития

إنجليزي. Oats (Avena sativa L.) rank third in importance among cereal crops in Russia and serve as a food source for humans and livestock. Achieving high aluminum resistance is crucial for oat cultivation in Siberian and North-Western regions. The work aim was to evaluate the effect of different concentrations of aluminum ions on common oat seedlings and to determine the threshold of alumotoxicity for further use in controlled selection. The studies were carried out at the Laboratory of Genomic Research in Plant Breeding under the Tyumen Scientific Center of the RAS Siberian branch in 2023. During the research, 'Otrada' oat seeds were germinated at different aluminum sulfate concentrations (0.25; 0.50; 0.75; 1.0; 1.5; 2.0; 3.0; 4.0; 5.0 and 7.0 g/L). Germination energy and laboratory germination rate were studied. The determination of the aluminum resistance threshold of oats was carried out according to the primary root length index (RLI) and the biomass of seedlings on the seventh day. The average root length of test oats seedlings did not differ from that of the control group at concentrations of aluminum sulfate of up to 0.5 g/L at the RLI of 95%. In the range of concentrations from 0.75 to 1 g/L, root length decreases 2.0–2.3 times compared to control; RLI reduces to 45%. Further increase in the concentration of aluminum ions causes a strong toxic effect when the root length decreases to 8 mm at RLI of 5.4%. The effect of the positive influence of aluminum ions at concentration of 0.5 to 1 g/L was observed: laboratory germination rate increased from 75 to 95%. Subsequent increase in the concentration led to a decrease in the oat seed sowing quality . The phytotoxicity of aluminum ions (y) is represented as a regression equation y=−1.0224x2 * 23.098x − 33.842, where x is aluminum ion concentration, g/L. To identify aluminum resistant oat genotypes, it is recommended to evaluate germination rate and related indicators in a laboratory using aluminum sulfate solution at a concentration of 1 g/L providing pH level of 4.1.

الروسية. Овёс является третьей по значимости зерновой культурой в России, которая используется в продовольственных и кормовых целях. Овёс, пригодный для Сибирских и Северо-Западных регионов, должен обладать высокой степенью алюмоустойчивости. Цель исследований – оценка влияния различной концентрации ионов алюминия на проростки овса посевного (Avena sativa L.) и определение порога ее токсичности для использования в направленной селекции. Исследования выполнены на базе лаборатории геномных исследований в растениеводстве Тюменского научного центра Сибирского отделения РАН в 2023 г. Для работы был выбран ряд концентраций сульфата алюминия (0,25; 0,50; 0,75; 1,0; 1,5; 2,0; 3,0; 4,0; 5,0 и 7,0 г/л) при которых проводили проращивание овса сорта Отрада. Изучали энергию прорастания и лабораторную всхожесть. Определение порога алюмоустойчивости овса проводили по индексу длины первичных корней (ИДК) и биомассе проростков на седьмой день. Средняя длина корней у опытных образцов овса не отличается от таковой контрольных при концентрации сульфата алюминия до 0,5 г/л при ИДК более 95%. В диапазоне концентраций от 0,75 до 1,00 г/л длина корней уменьшается в 2,0–2,3 раза относительно контроля, а ИДК снижается до 45%. При дальнейшем повышении концентрации ионов алюминия отмечается сильный токсический эффект, при котором длина корней уменьшается до 8 мм при ИДК 5,4%. Установлен эффект положительного влияния ионов алюминия при концентрации 0,5–1,0 г/л – лабораторная всхожесть возрастала с 75 до 95%. При последующем повышении концентрации посевные показатели овса снижаются. Фитотоксичность ионов алюминия (у) представлена в виде регрессионного уравнения y=-1,224x2 * 23,098x - 33,842, где x – концентрация ионов алюминия, г/л. Для выявления алюмоустойчивых генотипов овса рекомендуется метод лабораторной оценки всхожести и сопутствующих показателей при использовании раствора сульфата алюминия с концентрацией 1,0 г/л, обеспечивающей рН 4,1 ед.
