El principal objetivo es el de determinar los tipos de sedimentos que predominan en el área de estudio, así como su distributión aproximada en el mismo.
اظهر المزيد [+] اقل [-]This article presents the research results of the sea surface sediments samples, based upon texture characteristics and statistical parameters. 15 samples of bottom sediments, distributed in five perpendicular profiles to the line of coast, and each one three samples, from the area between Puntilla de Santa Elena and Punta Ancon (Province of Santa Elena, Ecuador) were analyzed. The result indicates a predominance of mixture, positive asymmetric, of sand and mud and, with poor classification, as well there is located fine grain sand in the zone near to the border. The muddy sediments come especially from erosion of Punta Ancon cliffs.
