Indicador de consumo de agua, asociado al gasto en actividades de manejo al recurso hídrico en establecimientos hoteleros colombianos | Water consumption indicator, associated with expenditure on hydrical resource management activities at colombian hotel establishments

En este artículo se evaluó el ahorro de agua, en los establecimientos hoteleros colombianos, que hacen parte de la población objetivo de la Encuesta Ambiental de Hoteles EAH 2014, realizada por el Departamento Nacional de Estadística DANE. Mediante la generación de un indicador de consumo por noche pernoctada, el cual mide la efectividad de la implementación de tecnologías o actividades enfocadas al uso adecuado del recurso hídrico. Inicialmente, se dividió la muestra teniendo en cuenta, regiones DANE, término que está conformado por comodidad y facilidad de levantamiento de la información y posteriormente, se empleó la Guía para Diseño, Construcción e Interpretación de Indicadores del DANE, con el fin de obtener el indicador por región, esto con el fin de establecer; primero, el ahorro logrado, segundo, el alce de efectividad en cuanto al consumo desde la NTS-TS-002 Certificación de calidad y sostenibilidad turística, que establece los índices de consumo sostenibles en colombiana, y tercero, la capacidad de ingresos versus los gastos e inversiones realizas en al año 2014. Los resultado mostraron que las regiones que recibían más ingresos fueron aquellos que más implementaron estrategias y tecnologías enfocadas al ahorro de agua, traduciéndose en un menor consumo de agua por noche y en el volumen total empleado para prestar el servicio de alojamiento en las diferentes regiones. Adicionalmente, el indicador se convierte en una herramienta de seguimiento y control a las metas trazadas en cuanto al ahorro del recurso hídrico en los diferentes establecimientos hoteleros

This study evaluated the water savings in Colombian hotel establishments that are part of the target population of the Environmental Hotel Survey EAH 2014, conducted by the National Department of Statistics DANE. Through the generation of an overnight consumption indicator, this measures the effectiveness of the implementation of technologies or activities focused on the proper use of water resources. Initially, the sample was divided taking into account, DANE regions, a term that is conformed by comfort and ease of information collection and later, the Guide for Design, Construction and Interpretation of Indicators of DANE was used, in order to obtain the Indicator by region, this in order to establish; First, the savings achieved, secondly, the increase of effectiveness in terms of consumption since the NTS-TS-002 Certification of quality and tourism sustainability, which establishes the sustainable consumption rates in Colombian, and third, the capacity of income versus expenses And investments made in the year 2014. The results showed that the regions that received more income were those that implemented more strategies and technologies focused on water, resulting in lower water consumption per night and in the total volume used to provide the Accommodation service in the different regions. In addition, the indicator becomes a tool to monitor and control the goals set for saving water resources in different hotel establishments.
