The increasing media coverage of the medical information as well as the importance of pets within numerous families are the main reasons that lead to diagnosis and treatment of a significant number of parasites in veterinary clinics. If we also add the zoonotic character of some parasites in dogs,then it is obvious that the aim of this study is to point out the endo and ecto parasite incidence found in the dogs treated in the Emergency of UVC. Out of the 4734 cases brought to UVC,a number of 431 dogs (9.10%) were diagnosed with parasitic diseases as follows:379 individuals (88%) showed cutaneous diseases, 45 dogs were diagnosed with various endoparasites and 7 cases (1%) were multiparasitic. The ectoparasites were found in the following proportion: demodicosis 36,67%, flea bite allergic dermatitis 21,89%, sarcoptosis 17,94%, infestation with Otodectes 12,92%, dermatophytosis 5,54% and other diseases 5,01%. The endoparasites had such prevalence as: toxocariosis 42,22%, hokeworms 26,66%, protozoosis 15,55%, tapeworm 4,44% and poliparasitism 11,11%.
