Identificación y evaluación de insectos polinizadores del café en tres fincas orgánicas, en el cantón Espíndola-provincia de Loja

This research "IDENTIFICATION AND EVALUATION OF POLLINATORS COFFEE IN THREE ORGANIC FARMS, IN CANTON ESPÍNDOLA- PROVINCE OF LOJA" was performed at the Laboratory of Entomology at the National University of Loja and three organic farms in the Canton Espíndola, during the months of August 2015 to May 2016 with the purpose of evaluating and knowing the efficiency and the diversity of pollinator species existing in coffee farms Mr. Ruben Reyes and Serbio Reyes. For efficient pollinators settled in the coffee plantations bee colonies Apis and native already in place but not yet identified, the design of randomized blocks was used with subsampling with three treatments and five replicates, the study variables were: species diversity, mincemeat, persistence, size, rate of bark, fruit weight, number of seeds, seed weight of the fruit and the relationship of diversity. 14 species were identified, of which four were the most important in the pollination of coffee, these species are: Partamona, Apis Augochlora and Plebeia. Bees of the genus Partamona predominated and were the most efficient, followed by Augochlora that was not very frequent visits to flowers coffee but turned out be more efficient than Apis the contrary had more visits to flowers of coffee, however Plebeia did not have many views coffee and reached the lowest rate of efficiency. As for the curdling, and the persistence, size, fruit weight, seed number, seed weight, it was higher in the treatment of controlled pollination and with little difference in open-pollinated, but significant differences were observed in the treatment of selfing instead cortex index selfing and presented it presented significant difference controlled and open pollination. In the analysis of relationship between diversity it was determined that the greatest diversity of species were found on the farm of Mr. Ruben Reyes in Tundurama and in Sango, and therefore fruit set and fruit persistence was better. Finally coffee growers recommend using native bees and Apis on their farms since it was found that cross-pollination improves local coffee fruit.

El presente trabajo de investigación “IDENTIFICACIÓN Y EVALUACIÓN DE INSECTOS POLINIZADORES DEL CAFÉ EN TRES FINCAS ORGÁNICAS, EN EL CANTÓN ESPÍNDOLA- PROVINCIA DE LOJA” se realizó en el Laboratorio de Entomología de la Universidad Nacional de Loja y en tres fincas orgánicas del Cantón Espíndola, durante los meses de agosto 2015 a mayo 2016, con el propósito de evaluar y conocer la eficiencia así como la diversidad de especies polinizadoras del café que existen en las fincas de los señores Rubén Reyes y Serbio Reyes. Para conocer la eficiencia de los polinizadores se instaló en los cafetales colonias de abejas Apis y nativas existentes en el lugar pero aun no identificadas, se utilizó el diseño de bloques al azar con submuestreo con tres tratamientos y cinco réplicas, las variables en estudio fueron: diversidad de especies, cuajado, persistencia, tamaño, índice de corteza, peso del fruto, número de semillas, peso de las semillas del fruto y la relación de la diversidad. Se logró identificar 14 especies, de las cuales, cuatro fueron las más importantes en la polinización de café, estas especies son: Partamona, Apis Augochlora y Plebeia. Las abejas del género Partamona predominaron y fueron las más eficientes, seguidas por Augochlora que no fue muy frecuente en las visitas a las flores del café, pero resultó ser más eficiente que Apis que al contrario tuvo mayor visitas a las flores de café, sin embargo Plebeia no tuvo muchas vistas al café y alcanzó el índice más bajo de eficiencia. En cuanto al cuajado, así como la persistencia, tamaño, peso del fruto, número de semillas, peso de semillas, fue mayor en el tratamiento de polinización controlada y con poca diferencia en polinización libre, pero sí se observó diferencias significativas en el tratamiento de autopolinización, en cambio el índice de corteza lo presentó autopolinización y presentó diferencia significativa para polinización controlada y libre. En el análisis de relación entre diversidad se determinó que la mayor diversidad de especies se encontraron en las fincas del señor Rubén Reyes en Tundurama y en el Sango, y por ende el cuajado y persistencia de frutos fue mejor. Finalmente se recomienda a los caficultores utilizar abejas nativas y Apis en sus fincas ya que se comprobó que la polinización cruzada mejora la calidad del fruto de café.
