إنجليزي. Many secondary metabolites that are synthesized in plants have allelopathic effects. Such allelochemicals are excreted by different routes and come to stimulate, delay or inhibit events such as germination, growth or development of other neighboring plants, an allelopathic phenomenon that has received special attention in recent years in agroecology due to its evident herbicidal properties. Some studies have allowed the development of new bioherbicides for control of weeds, replacing synthetic herbicides. The objective of these trials was to evaluate the allelopathic effect of aqueous and ethanolic extracts of Ipomoea batatas at different concentrations (0, 1, 2 and 3.33 %) on acceptor plants as: Amaranthus hypochondriacus and Portulaca olecarea under controlled conditions, taking as response variables total germination (GT), germination speed index (IVG) and root length (LR). The results showed that aqueous extracts at pH 7, had no effect on the germination of A. hypochondriacus, observing a slight delay in the speed of germination and a stimulating effect on root length at concentrations of 2 and 3.3 %. When the aqueous extract at pH 5 was tested, a significant inhibitory effect was evidenced in the three response variables, which increased with the concentration on the acceptors, being P. oleracea more sensitive. A similar result was obtained with the ethanolic extract, where the inhibitory effect was dependent on the concentration and A. hypochindriacus the most sensitive species until reaching 100 % germination inhibition even with the lowest dose.

الأسبانية؛ قشتالية. Muchos de los metabolitos secundarios que se sintetizan en plantas tiene efectos alelopáticos. Tales aleloquímicos, son excretados por diferentes vías y llegan a estimular, retrasar o inhibir eventos como germinación, crecimiento o desarrollo otras plantas aledañas, fenómeno alelopático que tiene una especial atención en los últimos años, en agroecología, por evidentes propiedades herbicidas. Algunos estudios, han permitido el desarrollo de nuevo bioherbicidas para el control de arvenses, en sustitución de herbicidas sintéticos. El objetivo de estos ensayos fue evaluar el efecto alelopático deextractos acuosos y etanólicos de Ipomoea batatas a diferentes concentraciones (0, 1, 2 y 3.33 %) sobre plantas aceptoras: Amaranthus hypochondriacus y Portulaca olecarea en condiciones controladas, tomando como variables respuesta; la germinación total (GT), índice de velocidad de germinación(IVG) y longitud radicular (LR). Los resultados mostraron que los extractos acuoso pH 7 no tuvieron efecto sobre la germinación de A. hypochondriacus, observándose un ligero retraso en la velocidad de germinación y efecto estimulante en la longitud radicular a concentraciones de 2 y 3.3 %. Cuandose probó el extracto acuoso a pH 5, se evidenció efecto inhibitorio significativo en las tres variables respuesta, lo cual aumentaba con la concentración sobre las aceptoras, siendo más sensible en P. oleracea. Similar resultado se obtuvo con el extracto etanólico, donde el efecto inhibitorio fue dependiente de la concentración y A. hypochindriacus la especiemás sensible hasta llegar a una inhibición del 100 % de la germinación incluso con la dosis más baja.
