Nutrientes na água do escoamento superficial em sistema plantio direto com mulching vertical | Nutrients on the water from runoff in no tillage system with vertical mulching

The main pollutants of water resources from agricultural areas are organic matter, sediments, nutrients and pesticides, carried out mainly by runoff from farming lands. Considering this fact, it is very important the development and application of new technologies to reduce such undesirable residues discharges, specifically some nutrients, as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and the organic carbon considered important in this process, that were analyzed in this study. The experiment was carried out in the experimental area at Embrapa, Passo Fundo-RS/Brazil, with the objective to evaluate nutrients losses on the water from runoff using a vertical mulching in no tillage system under different intensities of simulated rainfall to promote a sustainable crop management, as well as, to provide new alternatives in the adoption of conservation systems that can be used by farmers, that aiming to reduce the environmental impact of chemical agents on the water sources pollution. The treatments were without vertical mulching, vertical mulching furrow every 10 meters and vertical mulching furrow every 5 meters, located perpendicular to the soil slope in no tillage system for thirteen years. The field experiment was in a completed randomized blocks design with three replications. Rainfalls intensities of 70 and 106 mm h-1 were simulated during the initial growth stage of wheat and soybean development. The variances analysis of total volumes of water from the treatments with vertical mulching each 10 and 5 m, apart showed no significant differences between itself, nevertheless reduce 49.6 to 67.1%, when compared to the treatment without vertical mulching. The nutrients concentrations itself in relation to the treatments has no significant difference. The sequence of totals nutrients losses from higher to lower concentration is: organic carbon, potassium, phosphorus and total nitrogen, which are directly related to the volumes of water from runoff.

Os principais poluentes de mananciais hídricos nas áreas rurais são a matéria orgânica, os sedimentos, nutrientes e os pesticidas, transportados principalmente pelo escoamento da água oriunda das terras agricultadas. Devido a esse fato, faz-se necessário o desenvolvimento e aplicação de novas tecnologias que reduzam tais descargas de resíduos indesejáveis, mais precisamente alguns nutrientes considerados importantes nesse processo, como nitrogênio, fósforo, potássio e o carbono orgânico, que foram analisados neste trabalho. Esse experimento foi conduzido na área experimental da Embrapa, Passo Fundo-RS, com o objetivo de avaliar as perdas de nutrientes na água do escoamento superficial com o uso do mulching vertical em sistema plantio direto sob diferentes intensidades de chuva simulada de forma a promover o manejo sustentável das culturas, bem como, proporcionar alternativas na adoção de sistemas conservacionistas pelos produtores, visando à redução do impacto ambiental de agentes agroquímicos na poluição dos mananciais hídricos. Os tratamentos constituíram-se de parcelas sem mulching vertical, mulching vertical a cada 10 metros e mulching vertical a cada 5 metros, em área com sistema plantio direto a treze anos. O delineamento experimental foi em blocos ao acaso com três repetições. Simularam-se chuvas com intensidades de precipitação de 70 e 106 mm h-1, durante a fase inicial de desenvolvimento do trigo e, posteriormente, da soja. Os volumes totais do escoamento superficial para os tratamentos com mulching vertical a cada 10 e 5 m, nas duas épocas, não diferem entre si, entretanto reduzem entre 49,6 e 67,1 %, em relação ao tratamento sem mulching vertical. As concentrações de nutrientes na enxurrada não apresentam diferença significativa em relação aos tratamentos. As perdas totais de nutrientes em ordem decrescente são carbono orgânico, potássio, nitrogênio total e fósforo, estando diretamente relacionadas aos volumes de água do escoamento superficial acumulado de cada tratamento.
