Impactos ambientais no rio Turvo e sua influência na formação de trialometanos na água de abastecimento urbano | Environmental impacts in the Turvo river and its influence on the trialomethanes training in urban suplly water

O objetivo desse trabalho foi investigar os impactos ambientais causados pela presença de matéria orgânica em águas e, consequentemente, como essas influenciam na produção de THM durante os processos de tratamento de água, para tal, o rio Turvo e a Estação de Tratamento de Água do Serviço Autônomo de Água e Esgoto da cidade de Senador Firmino – MG. foram usados como modelo para este estudo. Amostras de água do rio Turvo foram coletadas, sendo medidos o teor de oxigênio dissolvido e a demanda bioquímica de oxigênio pelo método Winkler modificado pela azida sódica.Os níveis de trialometanos no rio Turvo e na água tratada também foram medidos, empregando a microextração em fase sólida no modo headspace (HS/SPME) com separação e detecção por cromatografia gasosa com detector por captura de elétrons (GC/ECD). O oxigênio dissolvido variou de 5,871 a 6,290 mg L -1 , enquanto a demanda bioquímica de oxigênio variou de 2,179 a 4,984 mg L -1 . Esses valores indicam que a água do rio Turvo é pouco poluída. Os parâmetros não variaram estatisticamente ao longo do rio e nem entre os dias no período avaliado, indicando que nenhuma carga poluidora alterou significativamente o estado de equilíbrio no qual o rio se encontrava. O método empregado para determinação de THM foi validado com base nos parâmetros de desempenho analítico seletividade, linearidade, limite de detecção, limite de quantificação, precisão e exatidão segundo a resolução RDC No 166, de 24 de julho de 2017 da ANVISA. O método apresentou seletividade para os compostos (clorofórmio, bromodiclorometano, dibromoclorometano e bromofórmio) e comportamento linear na faixa de concentração estudada. O limite de detecção foi de 0,003 μg L -1 e o limite de quantificação foi de 0,010 μg L -1 para os quatro trialometanos. Amostras de água foram coletadas na ETA antes e depois de cada etapa do tratamento (floculação, decantação, filtração e desinfecção), e em três pontos do sistema de distribuição da cidade. Como resultados, percebeu-se que a formação de trialometanos ocorreu majoritariamente durante a etapa de desinfecção. Em todas as análises os níveis de trialometanos estiveram abaixo dos limites toleráveis, chegando a estar até 100 vezes abaixo do limite máximo permitido. Os níveis de trialometanos aumentaram no sistema de distribuição na medida que aumentava a distância do ponto de coleta ao tanque de desinfecção, entretanto o aumento não foi suficiente para tornar as amostras irregulares.

The objective of this work was to investigate the environmental impacts caused by the presence of organic matter in waters and, consequently, how they influence the THM production during the water treatment processes, for this, the Turvo River and the Water Treatment Plant of the Autonomous Water and Sewage Service of the city of Senador Firmino - MG. were used as a model for this study. Water samples from the Turvo River were collected, and the dissolved oxygen content and biochemical oxygen demand were measured by the Winkler method modified by sodium azide. The trialmethane levels in the Turvo River and the treated water were also measured using phase microextraction. solid headspace mode (HS / SPME) with separation and detection by electron capture detector (GC / ECD) gas chromatography. Dissolved oxygen ranged from 5,871 to 6,290 mg L -1 , while biochemical oxygen demand ranged from 2,179 to 4,984 mg L -1 . These values indicate that the Turvo river water is poorly polluted. The parameters did not vary statistically along the river nor between the days in the evaluated period, indicating that no polluting load significantly altered the equilibrium state in which the river was. The method used to determine THM was validated based on the parameters of analytical performance selectivity, linearity, detection limit, limit of quantification, precision and accuracy according to ANVISA Resolution RDC No. 166, of July 24, 2017. The method showed selectivity for the compounds (chloroform, bromodichloromethane, dibromochloromethane and bromoform) and linear behavior in the concentration range studied. The limit of detection was 0.003 μg L -1 and the limit of quantitation was 0.010 μg L -1 for the four trialomethanes. Water samples were collected at the WTP before and after each treatment step (flocculation, decantation, filtration and disinfection), and at three points of the city's distribution system. As results, it was noticed that the formation of trialomethanes occurred mainly during the disinfection step. In all analyzes the trialmethane levels were below the tolerable limits, up to 100 times below the maximum allowable limit. Trialomethane levels increased in the distribution system as the distance from the collection point to the disinfection tank increased, however the increase was not sufficient to make the samples irregular.
