Controle químico da ferrugem asiática (Phakopsora pachyrhizi) e seu efeito na produtividade e na qualidade de sementes de soja | Chemical control of soybean rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi) and its effect on the yield and quality of soybean seeds

O presente trabalho foi desenvolvido no campo experimental, em casa de vegetação e no Laboratório de Sementes e Melhoramento Genético de Soja do Departamento de Fitotecnia da Universidade Federal de Viçosa, em Viçosa, Minas Gerais. Teve por objetivos avaliar o efeito do número de aplicações foliares de fungicidas no controle da ferrugem asiática e de doenças de final de ciclo e época de colheita na qualidade fisiológica e sanitária de sementes de cultivares de soja, semeadas em diferentes épocas. Utilizaram-se as cultivares de soja BRS/MG 68 Vencedora e MG/BR 46 Conquista, com aplicações dos fungicidas (pyraclostrobin + epoxiconazole) ou carbendazin, de acordo com os tratamentos: 1 – testemunha sem aplicação; 2 - uma aplicação no estádio fenológico R5; 3 - duas aplicações (R4 e R6) e 4 - três aplicações (R4, R5 e R6). As colheitas foram realizadas no estádio R9, R9 + 15 e R9 + 30 dias. Os experimentos foram instalados segundo um esquema de parcelas subdivididas, tendo nas parcelas as aplicações de fungicida e nas subparcelas as épocas de colheita no delineamento de blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. Reduções significativas de 91,6% e 97,5% na severidade de ferrugem asiática, e de 100% e 86,8% na porcentagem de desfolha foram obtidas no tratamento de três aplicações da mistura de fungicidas (pyraclostrobin + epoxiconazole) nas cultivares Vencedora e Conquista, respectivamente. Houve retardamento do ciclo, redução da porcentagem de abortamento de vagens e aumento do peso de 100 sementes nos tratamentos com aplicações de fungicidas, em relação à testemunha, em ambas as variedades. As mais altas produtividades foram alcançadas nos tratamentos com três aplicações da mistura de pyraclostrobin + epoxiconazole. Nos tratamentos com carbendazin não houve diferença significativa entre uma, duas ou três aplicações. Independentemente da época de semeadura e da aplicação de fungicidas ou não, não foram constatadas diferenças significativas na porcentagem de germinação das sementes e emergência de plântulas de ambas as cultivares, quando a colheita foi realizada no estádio fenológico R9 (maturação de colheita). Reduções gradativas na porcentagem de germinação, emergência de plântulas e vigor ocorreram com o retardamento da colheita, independentemente da aplicação de fungicidas. Sementes com menor vigor foram obtidas quando a colheita foi realizada 30 dias após o estádio fenológico R9. Na primeira época de semeadura, quando a colheita das sementes foi realizada no estádio R9, não foram observadas diferenças significativas entre os tratamentos com aplicações de fungicidas e a testemunha sem aplicação, quanto à incidência de fungos e porcentagem de germinação. Na segunda época de semeadura, foram observadas reduções significativas na porcentagem de incidência de Fusarium spp. e total de fungos quando a colheita foi realizada no estádio fenológico R9. Observou-se aumento na porcentagem de severidade de fungos e redução na germinação das sementes com o retardamento da colheita, em todos os tratamentos e em ambas as épocas de semeadura.

The present work was developed in experimental field, in greenhouse, and in the Laboratory of Soybean Seeds and Genetic Breeding in the Phytotecny Department at the Federal University of Viçosa, in Viçosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil. It aimed to evaluate the effect of number of leaf application of fungicides on the sanitary and physiologic quality of seeds of soybean cultivars, sow in different times. The soybean cultivars BRS/MG 68 and Vencedora and MG/BR 46 Conquista were used, with fungicide applications (pyraclostrobin + epoxiconazole) or carbendazin, according to the treatments: 1- witness with no application; 2- one application at the phenologic stage R5; 3- two applications (R4 and R6) and 4- three applications (R4, R5 and R6). The harvest was carried out at the stage R9, R9 + 15 and R9 + 30 days. The experiments were set up following a drawing of subdivided plots, the fungicide application was in the plots and the harvest times were in the subplots in a random blocks design with four repetitions. Significant reductions of 91.6% and 97.5% on the severity of Soybean rust, and reductions of 100% and 86.8% on the percentage of shedding of leaves were obtained in the treatment of three applications of fungicides mix (pyraclostrobin + epoxiconazole) on the cultivars Vencedora and Conquista, respectively. There was a delay on the cycle, reduction on percentage of abortion of the beans and an increase on the weight of 100 seeds in the treatments with fungicide applications, concerned to the witness on both varieties. The highest yields were reached on the treatments with three applications of the mix pyraclostrobin + epoxiconazole. In the treatments with carbendazin there was no significant differences among one, two or three applications. Independently on the sowing time and on the application of fungicides or not, significant differences on the percentage of germination of seeds and emergence of seedlings from both of the cultivars weren’t noticed, when the harvest was carried out at the phenologic stage R9 (harvest maturation). Gradual reductions on the percentage of germination, emergence of seedlings and vigor happened with the delay of the harvest, independently from the fungicides applications. Seeds with lower vigor were obtained when the harvest was carried out 30 days after the phenologic stage R9. At the first sowing time, when the harvest of the seeds was carried out at the stage R9, significant differences among the treatments with fungicides applications and the witness without application weren’t noticed, concerned to the germination. incidence of fungi and percentage of At the second time of sowing, significant reductions on the percentage of incidence of Fusarium spp. and the total of fungi were noticed when the harvest was carried out at the phenologic stage R9.
