Metais pesados como indicadores de materiais de origem de solos | Heavy metals as indicators of materials originating from soils

Objetivou-se, com o presente estudo: (a) determinar os teores de metais pesados em amostras de solos de uma topo-Iitoseqúência coletada no Triângulo Mineiro, Estado de Minas Gerais, para testar a hipótese de que estes elementos podem ser utilizados como marcadores na identificação e separação da influência do material de origem; (b) avaliar os teores de metais pesados, obtidos por extração ácida, a concentrações crescentes, em solos de formação típica e de transição dos materiais de origem da topo-litoseqúência do Triângulo Mineiro, simulando a disponibilidade destes elementos através das equações obtidas, para verificar a hipótese de que solos com diferentes origens apresentam potencial de disponibilidade diferenciado com relação aos elementos estudados; e (c) separar magneticamente e determinar os teores de metais pesados e a magnetização das frações magnéticas da areia, silte e argila de solos com diferentes origens, para avaliar a hipótese de que maiores níveis de magnetização correspondem a teores elevados destes elementos. Para tanto, coletaram-se amostras de solo, determinando-se na TFSA e frações total, magnética e não-magnética da areia, silte e argila, os teores de Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn, Zr e V, por três tipos de ataque ácido concentrado: HNo3/HCIO4 (4:1), HF/HNOngClO4 (20:6:3) e HCI/HF/HCIO4 (4:8:1), e um a concentrações crescentes de HNOJHCIO4 (4:1): 0; 0,3; 0,6; 0,9 e 1,2 mol/L, dosados por espectrofotometria de absorção atômica simples ou com plasma indutivamente acoplado (ICP-AES). Fez-se o uso de procedimentos de análise uni e multivariada para a avaliação estatística dos dados. Os resultados obtidos permitem concluir: (a) Os metais pesados são indicativos do material de origem, podendo ser usados como marcadores para a separação e delimitação da área de influência destes; (b) As técnicas multivariadas adotadas se mostraram viáveis para este tipo de estudo, porém, somente quando analisadas conjuntamente; (c) Entre os elementos estudados os que mais contribuíram para a diversidade foram: Cu>Ni=Fe=Mn=Zn, sendo que Cd e Pb foram os de menor importância, o que pode levar a inferir sobre a dispensa da avaliação destes elementos em estudos futuros em áreas semelhantes; (d) Pela simulação feita, os solos originários de basalto apresentam maior potencial de disponibilidade de metais pesados para as plantas, comparativamente aos solos desenvolvidos de gnaisse e arenito+sedimentos do Terciário; (e) Comprova-se a associação entre magnetização e metais pesados, com exceção de solos desenvolvidos de itabiritos e filitos hematiticos, identificando-se também que o comportamento para e diamagnético de certos componentes da argila tende a predominar sobre a ferromagnético, com efeito cúbico-raiz; (g) O separador magnético utilizado e os procedimentos adotados mostraram-se eficientes para a separação magnética dos solos estudados e o relacionamento com a magnetização da areia, silte e argila, e (h) A afinidade geoquímica dos metais pesados da areia e silte com os componentes magnéticos destas é constatada, sendo observados teores maiores destes elementos na fração magnética separada, o que não ocorre com a argila.

The present study had the purpose: (a) to determine the contents of heavy metals in samples of soils of a topo-Iithosequence collected in the “Triângulo Mineiro", State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in order to test the hypothesis that these elements could be used as markers on the identification and separation of the influence of the soil parent material; (b) to evaluate the contents of heavy metals, obtained through acid extraction, at increasing concentration, in soils of typical formation and of transition of the materials of topo-lithosequence from the "Triângulo Mineiro”, simulating a availability of these elements through obtained equations, to verify the hypothesis that the soils with different origins present potential of differentiated disponibility regarding the studied elements; and (c) to magnetically separate and determine the contents of heavy metals and the magnetization of magnetic fraction in the sand, silt and clay of soils with different origins, to evaluate the hypothesis that the higher levels of magnetization correspond to high contents of these elements. For this, samples of soil were collected, determinating in the air dried soil samples (< 2 mm) and total fractions, magnetic and non-magnetic sand, silt and clay, the contents of Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn, Zr and V, through three types of attack of concentrated acid: HNOJHCIO4 (4:1), HF/HNOngClO4 (2063) and HCl/HFIHClO4 (4:8:1), and one at increasing concentrations: 0; 0,3; 0,6; 0,9 and 1,2 mol/L, determined by espectrophotometry of atomic absorption or with inductively coupled plasma (lCP-AES). Procedures of analysis uni and multivarieted were used for the statistical evaluation of the data. The obtained results allow to conclude: (a) The heavy metals are indicator of the parent of the material, being able to be used as markers for the separation and delimitation of the area of their influence; (b) The adopted multivaried techniques proved themselves viable for this kind of study, however, only when analysed as a whole; (c) Among the studied elements the ones that contributed for the diversity were: Cu>Ni=Fe=Mn=Zn, however Cd and Pb were the ones with the least importance, which might lead to infer about the discard of the evaluation of these elements in future studies in similar areas; (d) According to the simulation that was done, the soils that originated from basalt presented the higher potential of availability of heavy metals for the Plants, comparing to the soils developed from gnaiss and sandstone + terceary sediments; (e) The association between magnetization and heavy metals, with the exception of soils developed from itabrite and hematitic phyllite was proven, also identifying that the para and diamagnetic behavior of certain clay components tends to predominate over the ferromagnetic, with root-cubic effect; (9) The used magnetic separator and the adopted procedures prove to be efficient for the magnetic separation of the studied soils and the relationship with the magnetization of sand, silt and clay, and (h) The geochemical affinity of the heavy metals of the sand and silt with the their magnetic compounds is proven, it was observed higher contents of these elements in the separated fraction, which does not occur with the clay.
