Analysis of water quality in the guayllabamba river basin and zone of influence EPMAPS - FONAG.

Los cuerpos de agua superficiales o subterráneos que carecen de la influencia de la actividad del ser humano, es la lluvia o la meteorización de las rocas, quienes definen sus características químicas. Reconocer los tipos de agua presentes en una cuenca permitiría conocer el proceso de formación y recorrido del agua previo a su uso. En el presente trabajo se ha decidido analizar la subcuenca del Río Guayllabamba para clasificar el agua de las fuentes naturales presentes. Para este propósito se usó el programa DIAGRAMMES y se comparó los resultados con información existente de la geología de la zona específicamente del lado de la cordillera oriental, donde existen rocas con gran afinidad calco-alcalina. Todas las fuentes que contaron con un balance iónico menor al 20% fueron analizadas y se determinó que contienen agua de tipo bicarbonatada sódicas y cálcicas y una gran cantidad de muestras son fuentes jóvenes sin tipo de catión predominante.

In surface or groundwater bodies not influenced by humans, their chemical characteristics are defined either by rainfall or by the weathering of rocks. Recognizing the types of water present in a basin would allow us to know the process of formation and path of water prior to its use. In the present work, it has been decided to analyze the sub-basin of the Guayllabamba River to classify the water of the natural springs present with the help of the DIAGRAMMES program and compare with existing information on the geology of the area, specifically on the eastern side of the Cordillera, where there are rocks with great calc-alkaline affinity. All the springs that had an ionic balance of less than 20% were analyzed and it was determined that they contain bicarbonate type water distributed between sodium, calcium, and a large number of young springs without a predominant type.
