Nicaraguan English II | El inglés nicaragüense II

In the sections that follow, the focus of our attention will be the grammar of a creole language and the history of that language, insofar as it is possible to explain the latter.  Because of their origin, Creole languages are supposed to illuminate, in an extraordinary way, language and its development in the individual and society.  In fact, this must surely be the justification for the great amount of time and energy that modern linguistics has invested in them. Personally, I take a somewhat less apocalyptic view during a detailed examination of the idiosyncrasies of one language, which I consider simply a variety of English: Nicaraguan English; the object of its study will be to understand what it is and how it came to be what it is. Nicaraguan English - also known in the literature on Creoles as Miskito Coast Creole English - is the term used in the pages that follow to refer to the mother tongue of some 30,000 people on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua Hale and Gordon (1987), with the city of Bluefields, in the South Atlantic Autonomous Region (hereafter RAAS), as its cultural and commercial capital.

En las secciones que siguen, el foco de nuestra atención será la gramática de un idioma criollo y la historia de ese idioma, en la medida en que es posible explicar esta última.  Debido a su origen particular, se supone que los idiomas criollos iluminan, de manera extraordinaria, el lenguaje y su desarrollo en el individuo y la sociedad. De hecho, ésta debe ser seguramente la justificación para la gran calidad de tiempo y energía que la lingüística moderna ha invertido en ellos. Personalmente, lomo un punto de vista un tamo menos apocalíptico en el transcurso del examen detallado de las idiosincrasias de una lengua, que considero simplemente una variedad del inglés: el inglés nicaragüense; el objeto de su estudio consistirá en entender qué es y cómo llegó a ser lo que es. El inglés nicaragüense también conocido en la literatura sobre los criollos como el inglés criollo de la Costa Miskita es el término utilizado en las páginas que siguen para referirse a la lengua materna de unas 30 mil personas en la Costa Caribe de Nicaragua Haley Gordon (1987), siendo la ciudad de Bluefields, en la Región Autónoma del Atlántico Sur (en adelante, RAAS), su capital cultural y comercial.
