The purpose of this work was to contribute to the assessment of the water storage capacity in the soil and subsoil during peak flooding along the Limpopo River in Mozambique. For this purpose, the computational tool Qgis, in version 2.18.21, was used for the projection of topographic data and subsequent simulation of the water levels along the section selected as a key. The contours were established with equidistance of one meter, which allowed the extraction of topographic attributes of the section. The following step was the use of the Windows, Geometric Data (mean coefficients assigned) and steady flow Data (adding input data initially generated). The study of the hydrological regime suggested the real availability of water present in the soil and subsoil and the risk of floods to which the population is subject to.
