Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) according to the classification of glomerular filtration (GF) and the quantification of albuminuria. The kidney disease (KD) is defined with GF ≤60 mil/min, whereas renal insufficiency (RI) covers stages G3 onwards. The level of urinary albumin excretion, associated with the speed of glomerular filtration, sets the prognosis of chronic kidney disease.
