Caracterização do mel de outono de abelhas Apis Mellifera em uma unidade de produção no Bioma Pampa

A cada ano que passa ocorre uma sensível redução de áreas naturais que culmina em extinções de espécies da fauna e da flora no bioma Pampa. Dados de 2007 demonstram que houve supressão em 39% das áreas originais deste bioma, o que acarreta fragmentação de habitats, bem como interferência nos processos biológicos como o da polinização. As causas para essa pressão ambiental causada pelo ser humano são diversas. Entretanto, hoje sabe-se que grande parte é devido ao estabelecimento de monoculturas em detrimento de áreas naturais. Muitas vezes, durante o plantio, pode haver excesso de produtos químicos, os quais podem prejudicar ou até mesmo matar espécies polinizadoras que auxiliam na produção de alimentos. A apicultura é uma atividade sustentável que possui vasto campo para se desenvolver neste bioma, contribuindo em serviços de polinização e preservação do Pampa e das abelhas. Este trabalho visa caracterizar o mel de outono em uma unidade produtiva localizada em Lavras do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, para agregar valor ao produto comercial, o qual pode crescer muito. Almeja-se atentar a população para questões relacionadas à conservação do Pampa bem como polinizadores que utilizam esse bioma para sua sobrevivência. Para isso, foi feita uma análise polínica do mel e suas respectivas análises físicoquímicas. Os resultados desse estudo demonstram que embora na área estudada tenha sido encontrada cerca de 52 espécies de plantas em floração pertencentes a 18 famílias, nenhuma delas foi representada no mel, onde nove tipos polínicos foram identificados. Outro fator interessante foi que não houve pólen predominante demonstrando que mais do que coletar o néctar de uma fonte principal, as abelhas tiveram mais opções florísticas para produzir o seu mel. Finalmente, esses atributos contribuíram para que o mel avaliado estivesse dentro de todas as normas físico-químicas propostos pela legislação brasileira e que também agradou a maioria das pessoas que puderam experimentá-lo. Conclui-se que o bioma Pampa pode ser, sim, um ecossistema valioso para a apicultura gaúcha oferecendo uma rica flora que contribui para a produção de um mel agradável e apropriado para o mercado nacional e eventualmente internacional.

Every year that passes there is a significant reduction of natural areas that culminates in extinctions of species of fauna and flora in the Pampa biome. Recent data shows that deforestation occurred in 39% of the original areas in this biome, which leads to fragmentation of habitats, as well as interference in the biological processes such as pollination. The causes for this environmental pressure caused by the human being are diverse. However, today it is known that a great part is due to the establishment of monocultures in the detriment of natural areas. Often, during planting, there may be excess chemicals, which can harm or even kill pollinating species that aid in the production of food. Beekeeping is a sustainable activity that has vast field to develop in this biome, contributing in services of pollination and preservation of Pampa and bees. This work aims to characterize the autumn honey in a production unit located in Lavras do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, to add value to the commercial product, which can grow a lot. It is hoped to target the population for questions related to the conservation of the Pampa as well as pollinators that use this biome for their survival. To do this, a pollen analysis of the honey and its respective physicochemical analyzes was made. The results of the study show that although 52 species of flowering plants belonging to 18 families were found in the studied area, none of them were represented in honey, where nine pollen types were identified. Another interesting factor was that there was no predominant pollen demonstrating that rather than collecting the nectar from a major source, the bees had more floristic options to produce their honey. Finally, these attributes contributed to the fact that the honey evaluated was within all the physicochemical standards proposed by the Brazilian legislation and that also pleased the majority of people who could try it. It can be concluded that the Pampa biome can be a valuable ecosystem for the beekeeping of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, offering a rich flora that contributes to the production of honey that is pleasant and appropriate for the southern market.
