Comportamento de cultivares de soja [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] em resposta a diferentes épocas de aplicação do metribuzin | Behaviour of soybean (Glycine max (L.( Merrill) cultivars in response to different application times of metribuzin

Um experimento de campo fo i conduzido em área da Estação Experimental Agronômica da UFRGS, em Guaíba, RS, durante o ano agrícola de 1978/79, com o objetivo de avaliar o comportamento de sete cultivares de soja em resposta a épocas de aplicação do herbicida metribuzin. As cultivares foram submetidas ás épocas de aplicação em pré-semeadura incorporada ao solo (PSI), pré-emergência (PRÉ) e pós-emergência (PÓS), tendo sido utilizada a dose de 490 g/ha de metribuzin. Para avaliação visual de fitotoxicidade, constatou-se que o tratamento em PSI foi o que ocasionou maior efeito fitotóxico, enquanto que os em PRE e POS apresentaram menor grau de injúria. Com relação a população de plantas as cultivares Planalto, Paraná e IAS5 demonstraram diferenciação na população para as épocas de aplicação testadas, sendo que as demais cultivares não apresentaram variações para este parâmetro. O número de grãos foi o principal componente responsável pelas diferenças verificadas no rendimento de grãos. Para as médias de rendimento de grãos obtidas, constatou-se ter havido significância para o efeito épocas de aplicação, tendo os tratamentos aplicados em PRE e PSI, sido inferiores em 10 e 21%, respectivamente, ao utilizado em PÓS, que alcançou 2.300 kg/ha.

In order to evaluate the behaviour of seven soybean cultivars in response to application times of the herbicide metribuzin, an experiment was conducted at the Agronomic Experimental Station of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, located in Guaíba, RS, Brazil, during the 1978/1979 growing season. The cultivars were tested under three application times pre-sowing soil incorporated (PSI), pre-emergence (PRÉ) and post-emergence (POS), using 490 g/ha of metribuzin. For visual evaluation of plant toxicity it was observed that the treatment in PSI caused the greatest phytotoxic effect, while the treatments in PRE and PÓS showed the lowest level of damage. For plant population, the cultivars Planalto, Paraná, and IAS5 showed differentiation in relation to the herbicide application times tested. The grain number produced was the main factor responsible for the differences observed in grain yield. There were significant differences among application times for grain yield the average grain yield observed for the applications in PRE and PSI were 10 and 21%, lower, respectively, than the applications in PÓS which produced 2.300 kg/ha.
