Manipulação do ciclo estral de fêmeas bovinas

A inseminação artificial (IA) promove a evolução genética, e com aumento do rebanho bovino brasileiro houve a necessidade de buscar o aprimoramento de programas de IA foram visando aumentar o controle do ciclo estral das fêmeas bovinas. Os protocolos mais utilizados no gado de corte no Brasil são baseados em progesterona e estradiol, com o uso do cipionato de estradiol como indutor da ovulação. A partir disso, para aumentar a fertilidade das fêmeas submetidas a protocolos de IA em tempo fixo (IATF), buscou-se estudar da associação do GnRH como indutor de ovulação. Portanto, o objetivo desta revisão bibliográfica foi fazer um levantamento de assuntos pertinentes a estratégias de controle do ciclo estral, servindo de base para dois estudos experimentais. E a partir disso, foi avaliar em um experimento o o efeito do tratamento com GnRH no momento da IATF em vacas que não manifestaram estro (Grupo Controle) ou em todos os animais independente do estro (Grupo GnRH). Na primeira parte do buscou-se determinar a influência do GnRH sobre a o desenvolvimento folicular, taxa de ovulação e função luteal. O momento e taxa de ovulação não diferiram entre os grupos, e não foi observada diferença na área, diâmetro e circunferência do corpo lúteo (CL), indicando que não há modulação da função luteal. A partir desses resultados, buscou-se explicar qual o efeito do GnRH sobre a taxa de concepção (P/IA). Não foi observada diferença na P/IA entre grupos, portanto são obtidas mesmas taxas de P/IA utilizando GnRH em todos os animais submetidos ao protocolo de IATF ou somente naqueles não identificados em estro, sem prejuízo na taxa de ovulação e função luteal.

Artificial insemination (AI) promotes the genetic evolution of the herd, and with the increase in the Brazilian cattle herd, there was a need to seek the improvement of AI programs aiming to increse the control of the estrous cycle of bovine females. The protocols most used in beef cattle in Brazil are based on progesterone and estradiol, with the use of estradiol cypionate as an ovulation inducer. Therefore, to increase the fertility of females submitted to fixed-time AI protocols (FTAI), we aimed to study the association of GnRH as an ovulation inducer. The objective of this bibliographical review was to make a survey of subjects related to estrous cycle control strategies, being the basis for two experimental studies. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of GnRH treatment at the time of FTAI in cows that did not show estrus (Control Group) or in all animals regardless of estrus (GnRH Group). In the first experiment, we sought to determine the influence of GnRH on follicular development, ovulation rate and luteal function. The time and rate of ovulation did not differ between groups, and no difference was observed in the area, diameter and circumference of the corpus luteum (CL), indicating that there was no modulation of luteal function. And the second experiment aimed to evaluate the conception rate (P/IA). No difference was observed in P/AI between groups, therefore, the same P/AI rates are obtained using GnRH in all animals submitted to the FTAI protocol or only in those not identified in estrus, without impairing the ovulation rate and luteal function.
