Xilem study in roots of Arachis hypogaea subsp. hypogaea var hypogaea ev. Florman INTA (leguminosae) in soils with densified horizons | Estudio del xilema en raíces de Arachis hipogaea subsp. hypogaea var. hypogaea cv. Florman INTA (leguminosae) en suelos con horizontes densificados

إنجليزي. The objective of-this work ís to study xylem characteristics of roots of Arachis hypogaea L. subsp. hypogaea var. hypogaea cv. "Florman INTA" in a typical Haplustoll soil with densified horizons and different hydrical condition. This study was carried out in two plots located in the subhumid dry region of Río Cuarto Department. Plot 1 shows higher mean humidity and lower mechanical impedance. Under these conditions, the diameter, wall thickness and frequency of vessel members are larger. Even though plants from both plots show similar total root and xilematic areas, roots from Plot 2 show lower values in vessel member characleristics. Therefore, they must have a higher proportion of parenchymatic tissue. This study demonstrates how small changes in soil water content affect xylem structure.

الأسبانية؛ قشتالية. El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar las características del xilema de las raíces de Arachis hypogaea L. en suelos con horizontes densificados y distinta condición hídrica. Este trabajo se llevó a cabo en dos parcelas de la región subhúmeda seca del Opto. Río Cuarto, con suelos Haplustoles típicos. Las raíces de ambas parcelas no presentan diferencias significativas en el área total transversal y área xilemática, sin embargo, cuando la humedad media del suelo es mayor y la resistencia mecánica menor, se observa mayor diámetro, espesor de pared y frecuencia de elementos conductores xilemáticos. En la otra parcela se observa que las ralees presentan un área xilemática similar pero menores valores en las características mencionadas de los miembros de vaso, por lo tanto, debe necesariamente presentar mayor proporción de tejido parenquimático. Este aporte demuestra como pequeños cambios en el contenido hídrico del suelo afectan la estructura del xilema.
