The aim of this study was to examine the marketing activities of medium-sized meat wholesalers of Holstein dairy cattle and to clarify whether the high demand for internal organs contributes to an increase in beef salesThe following two points were elucidated. First, using a tie-in sales strategy, companies in the same industry set identical prices for beef and good asking prices for internal organs from domestic dairy cattle, which may contribute to the expansion of Holstein beef sales. Second, the effectiveness of this strategy is limited because it is difficult to satisfy all the necessary conditions for introducing a tie-in sales strategy to medium-sized meat wholesalers.
