Este tratamiento incluye una clave para las especies peruanas por departamento, descripciones, ilustraciones, comentarios de afinidades y distribución. También se describen once nuevas especies (Inga abbreviata T.D.Penn., I. bicentenaria T.D.Penn. & S. Palacios, I. gongylodes T.D.Penn., I. mendozana T.D.Penn., I. neurostipula T.D.Penn., I. patelliformis T.D.Penn., I. promisora T.D.Penn., I. rubella T.D.Penn., I. tambopatensis T.D.Penn., I. straminea T.D.Penn. y I. rodolfovasquezii T.D.Penn.) y se propone una nueva combinación, Inga subcapitata (T.D.Penn.) T.D.Penn.
