Latvijā selekcionētu miežu (Hordeum vulgare L.) šķirņu raža un graudu kvalitāte dažādos reģionos 2018.–2022. gadā = Yield and grain quality of barley varieties selected in different regions of Latvia during 2018–2022

The purpose of this research was to carry out field trials to compare the quality and grain yield of two new varieties (‘Didzis’ and ‘Saule PR’) and two widely grown barley varieties (‘Kristaps’ and ‘Propino’) using two rates of fertilizer application between 2018 and 2022. Trials were arranged at the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Economics (AREI) in three locations: Stende Research Centre (SRC), Priekuli Research Centre (PRC) and Latgale Agricultural Research Centre (LARC). The field experiment was carried out by using two different levels of fertilizer application which were calculated depending on the desirable yield level 5 t ha⁻¹ – 7 t ha⁻¹ and 4 t ha⁻¹ – 6 t ha⁻¹ (2018 in LARC). Two fertilizer rates N1 and N2 (factor A) were used for each variety (factor B). The seed sowing rate for barley consisted of 400 germinating seeds per 1 m². The barley yield with the lowest dose of fertilizer in SRC ranged from 6.4 to 7.3 t ha⁻¹, in LARC from 6.3 to 7.5 t ha⁻¹ and in PRC 4.3–5.5 t ha⁻¹, while the yield for barley varieties with the highest dose of fertilizer in SRC ranged from 6.7 to 7.9 t ha⁻¹, in LARC 7.1–7.9 t ha⁻¹ and in PRC 4.6–5.8 t ha⁻¹. Grain quality indicators, including protein content, were determined using Infratec NOVA. The protein content of barley grains is significantly influenced by the variety and soil fertility indicators. The highest protein content in grains during the trial was discovered in the variety ‘Saule’ in SRC (150–156 g kg⁻¹), PRC (136–165 g kg⁻¹) and LARC (152–156 g kg⁻¹). It should be concluded that the grain yield of barley varieties was influenced more by soil and annual climatic conditions than the applied fertilizer rates. The highest average yield in the Stende Research Centre was produced by variety ‘Propino’, the highest average yield in the Priekuļi Research centre was produced by ‘Didzis’, and the varieties with the highest average yield in Agricultural Research Centre in Latgale were ‘Didzis’ (N1) and ‘Kristaps’ (N2). On average the highest protein content was provided by the barley variety ‘Saule PR’ at both fertilization rates. [LAV] Publikācijas mērķis bija salīdzināt divu jaunu šķirņu un divu plaši audzētu miežu šķirņu graudu ražu un kvalitāti, audzējot trīs atšķirīgās vietās no 2018. līdz 2022. gadam. Miežu jaunās šķirnes ir ‘Didzis’ un ‘Saule PR’, plašāk audzētās – ‘Kristaps’ un ‘Propino’. Lauka izmēģinājumi tika veikti Agroresursu un ekonomikas institūta (AREI) Stendes pētniecības centrā (SPC), Priekuļu pētniecības centrā (PPC) un Latgales lauksaimniecības pētniecības centrā (LLZC). Lauka eksperimentā visās pētījuma vietās izmantotas integrētās audzēšanas tehnoloģijas. Divi dažādi mēslojuma līmeņi aprēķināti vēlamajam ražas līmenim: 5 t ha⁻¹ un 7 t ha⁻¹, 2018. gadā tikai LLZC 4 t ha⁻¹ un 6 t ha⁻¹. Pētījumā B faktors bija šķirne, A faktors – mēslojuma norma (N1 un N2). Sēklu izsējas norma miežiem veidoja 400 dīgstošās sēklas uz 1 m². Piecos pētījuma gados miežu vidējā raža N1 variantā SPC bija robežās no 6.4 līdz 7.3 t ha⁻¹, LLZC 6.3–7.5 t ha⁻¹ un PPC 4.3–5.5 t ha⁻¹, savukārt vidējā raža miežu šķirnēm N2 variantā SPC bija 6.7–7.9 t ha⁻¹, LLZC 7.1–7.9 t ha⁻¹ un PPC 4.6–5.8 t ha⁻¹. Graudu kvalitātes rādītāji, tajā skaitā proteīna saturs, tika noteikti AREI Graudu tehnoloģijas un agroķīmijas laboratorijā, izmantojot metodi “Infratec NOVA”. Lielākais proteīna saturs graudos tika konstatēts šķirnei ‘Saule’ SPC (150–156 g kg⁻¹), PPC (136–165 g kg⁻¹) un LLZC (152–156 g kg⁻¹). Jāsecina, ka miežu šķirņu graudu ražību vairāk ietekmēja atšķirīgie augsnes un gada klimatiskie apstākļi nekā izmantotās mēslojuma normas. Stendes PC augstāko vidējo ražu nodrošināja šķirne ‘Propino’, Priekuļu PC – ‘Didzis’, LLZC – ‘Didzis’ (N1) un ‘Kristaps’ (N2). Vidēji piecos gados augstāko proteīna saturu visās vietās pie abām mēslojuma normām nodrošināja miežu šķirne ‘Saule PR’.
