Latvijas jauno bumbieru šķirņu potējumu saderība ar potcelmu Cydonia oblonga = Compatibility of grafting of new Latvian pear cultivars with rootstock Cydonia oblonga

The winter hardiness of trees is influenced by various physiological processes. In fruit trees, the occurrence of physiological processes in both the rootstock and the grafted cultivar, as well as the interaction between them, holds significance. One crucial indicator is the compatibility or incompatibility between the rootstock and the cultivar, which can manifest in the first year but continue to have an impact for up to five years. In Latvia, the commonly used rootstock in pear growing is the seedlings of Pyrus communis, from which resistant forms with higher winter hardiness and good compatibility with cultivars have been selected over time. For new cultivars submitted for evaluation to the DUS testing (differences, uniformity, stability), the initial requirement is to use the rootstock Cydonia oblonga. At the Institute of Horticulture in Dobele, grafting was performed using the advanced copulation method in March. The cultivars ‘Lauriņa’, ‘Rūta’, ‘Rūdolfs’, and ‘Elīna’ were grafted onto the rootstock Cyd.A, with each cultivar grafted on 20 rootstocks. During the autumn stocktaking, 100% of graftings had increased for the cv. ‘Elīna’, while graftings for ‘Lauriņa’ had increased by 95%, ‘Rūdolfs’ by 85%, and ‘Rūta’ by 50%. This implies that it would be possible to conduct the test for the cv. ‘Elīna’. The research was done with the support of the project “Horticultural crop breeding program for the development of breeding material to support the conventional, integrated and organic agricultural crop production technologies”. [LAV] Koku ziemcietību ietekmē dažādi fizioloģiski procesi. Augļu kokiem fizioloģisko procesu norisei ir būtiska nozīme gan potcelmam, gan uzpotētajai šķirnei, kā arī to savstarpējai mijiedarbībai. Viens no būtiskiem rādītājiem ir potcelma un šķirnes saderība vai nesaderība, kas var izpausties pirmajā gadā, bet turpināties līdz pat pieciem gadiem. Latvijā bumbieru audzēšanā biežāk izmantotais potcelms ir Pyrus communis, no kura laika gaitā atlasītas izturīgas formas ar augstāku ziemcietību un labu saderību ar šķirnēm. Jaunām šķirnēm sākotnējā prasība ir izmantot potcelmu Cydonia oblonga, lai pēc tam iesniegtu vērtēšanai AVS pārbaudei (atšķirība, viendabīgums, stabilitāte). Dārzkopības institūtā Dobelē martā veikta potēšana ar uzlaboto kopulēšanas metodi. Uz potcelma Cyd.A uzpotētas šķirnes ‘Lauriņa’, ‘Rūta’, ‘Rūdolfs’, ‘Elīna’, katru šķirni uzpotējot uz 20 potcelmiem. Rudens mērījumu laikā, noteikts, cik % potējumu no šķirnes pieaudzis. Šķirnei ‘Elīna’ pieauguši 100% potējumu, savukārt potējumi ‘Lauriņai’ pieauguši par 95%, ‘Rūdolfs’ par 85%, bet ‘Rūtai’ 50%. Tas nozīmē, ka testu būtu iespējams veikt tikai šķirnei ‘Elīna’. Pētījums veikts ar projekta “Dārzaugu selekcijas programma selekcijas materiāla izstrādei, lai veicinātu konvencionālo, integrēto un bioloģisko lauksaimniecības kultūraugu audzēšanas tehnoloģiju ieviešanu” atbalstu; projekta vienošanās Nr. 10.9.1-11/23/1654-e. Pētījuma mērķis ir sagatavot stādus AVS testam, līdztekus noskaidrojot šķirņu un potcelma Cydonia oblonga saderību.
