Pookealuste mõju ploomipuu (Prunus domestica) istikute kvaliteedile

Pookealused võivad mõjutada taimed kasvu, saagikust ja kohanemisvõimet erinevate klimaatiliste tingimustega. Ploomisortidel on erinev kasvutugevus ning seetõttu on pookealuse mõju taime kasvule erinev. Töö eesmärk on selgitada välja pookealuse mõju ploomipuude istikute teise aasta kasvule. Pookealusteks olid haralise ploomipuu (Prunus cerasifer (kontrollvariant) ja VVA-1 (Prunus tomentosa ×Prunus cerasifera) sortidel 'Ave' ja 'Vilmitar' ning sordil 'Emma Leppermann' haraline ploomipuu ja 146-2 (Prunus besseyi×Prunus tomentosa). Katse viidi läbi 2014.-2015. aastal ettevõttes OÜ Pruuli Puukool, Jõgevamaal, Eestis. Saadud katseandmete põhjal võib järeldada, et sorti ’Emma Leppermann’ on kasvutugevuse vähendamiseks soovitatav paljundada pookealusele 146-2, sest pookealus ei avaldanud olulist mõju istiku kasvutugevusele teisel kasvuaastal. Sortide ’Ave’ ja ’Vilmitar’ kasvutugevust vähendas vegetatiivalus VVA-1, samas aga madalakasvulisel pookealusel ja tugevakasvulisel sordil võib tekkida sobimatus. ’Vilmitar’ on keskmisekasvuline sort ja seetõttu võib olla alusega VVA-1 parem sobivus. Mitmed ploomipuu sordid on isesteriilsed, kuid pookealus võib mõjutada ploomipuu õitsemist ja viljakandvust ning seetõttu on edasised uuringud vajalikud tootmisse sortide soovitamisel.

Many of the rootstocks used, affect scion growth, plants yielding, and suitability to different climatic conditions. Since plum cultivars have a different growth and therefore the rootstock affects them differently. The aim of the research was to identify the influence of a rootstock on a transplant`s second year growth. Rootstocks for cultivars 'Ave' and 'Vilmitar' were Myrobalan plum (Prunus cerasifera) (control treatment) and VVA-1 (Prunus tomentosa ×Prunus cerasifera) and for cultivar. 'Emma Leppermann' Myrobalan plum (control treatment) and 146-2 (Prunus besseyi×Prunus tomentosa). An experiment was established in 2014-2015 at the Pruuli nursery in Jõgeva county, Estonia. On the basis on these investigations, it is noted that rootstock 146-2 did not affect the growth of the cultivar 'Emma Leppermann' on the second year and therefore it had as good quality as the plants grafted on the rootstock Myrobalan. It is reccommended to graft cultivar ’Emma Leppermann’on the rootstock 146-2 to reduce the growth of the tree. On the cultivars ’Ave’ and ’Vilmitar’ rootstock VVA-1 had an influence by making the growth smaller. It is known that ’Ave’ has a strong growth and therefore it may have an incompability with the vegetative rootstock that has smaller growth. Cultivar ’Vilmitar’ has medium size growth and may have better compabilty with rootstock VVA-1. Many plum cultivars are selfsterile. Rootstock may also influence flowering and yielding on plum trees. It is important to do further investigation with vegetative rootstocks with different cultivars to give new reccomendations.
