إنجليزي. This thesis aims to understand the degree of genericity of a biogeochemical process related to carbon dynamics, the "Priming Effect" (PE). This process was initially studied in soils before being identified in the aquatic environment. It can be defined in both types of environments as the modification (increase or decrease) of the mineralization rate of the organic matter stabilized by the addition of labile organic matter. The objective of this work was to test the PE response in the context of global changes as well as in the context of agricultural practices. A first experiment in agricultural soil tested the energy hypothesis by playing on the quality of the organic matter brought. The results confirmed the central role of the energetic aspect of organic matter input in soils by demonstrating that fresh plant residues induce over-mineralization (PE) of soil organic matter eight times higher than its pre-decomposed equivalent. In this same experiment, the responses of the PE to a temperature increase, an increase in nutrient availability and a change in soil cover (agricultural cover vs. forest cover) were tested. This shows a strong effect of temperature on basal soils mineralization, but no effect on PE. The latter seems to react more to the availability of energy and the type of vegetation cover. In parallel with this terrestrial part, two aquatic experiments were conducted, testing the impact of changes in stoichiometry, temperature and availability of labile organic matter on the interactions between the decomposers compartment and that of the primary producers. Few results are available to date, and no definitive conclusion on the PE response is currently available. However, it has been possible to highlight the relative importance of carbon fluxes from the different biotic compartments of our systems. A significant algal mixotrophy has thus been demonstrated, leading us to reconsider the role of primary producers in the aquatic part of the carbon cycle dynamics, and therefore their potential role in the PE in the context of global warming and continental surfaces erosion. Complementary analyzes of the stored samples and a modeling approach under development will make it possible to identify the possible singularities of PE in the aquatic environment with respect to the terrestrial environment. On its terrestrial side, this thesis has suggested an agroecological approach of management of carbon stocks in soils, as well as to highlight the major role of the state of decomposition of plant residues on the intensity of the PE.

فرنسي. Cette thèse a pour but de comprendre le degré de généricité d’un processus biogéochimique lié à la dynamique du carbone, le « Priming Effect » (PE). Ce processus fut initialement étudié dans les sols avant d’être identifié en milieu aquatique. Il peut être défini dans les deux types de milieux comme la modification (augmentation ou diminution) du taux de minéralisation de la matière organique stabilisée par l’adition de matière organique labile. L’objectif du présent travail a été de tester la réponse du PE dans le contexte des changements globaux ainsi que dans celui des pratiques agricoles. Une première expérimentation en sol agricole a testé l’hypothèse énergétique en jouant sur la qualité de la matière organique apportée. Les résultats ont permis de confirmer le rôle central de l’aspect énergétique de l’apport de matière organique dans les sols en démontrant que les résidus végétaux frais induisaient une surminéralisation (PE) du carbone de la matière organique du sol huit fois supérieure à son équivalent pré-décomposé. Dans cette même expérimentation, la réponse du PE à une augmentation de température, une augmentation de la disponibilité en nutriments ainsi qu’à un changement de couverture des sols (couvert agricole vs. couvert forestier) a été testée. Il en ressort un fort effet de la température sur la minéralisation basale des sols, mais pas d’effet sur le PE. Ce dernier semble réagir d’avantage à la disponibilité en énergie ainsi qu’au type de couvert végétal. En parallèle de cette partie terrestre, deux expérimentations aquatiques ont été menées, testant l’impact des changements de stoechiométrie, de température et de disponibilité en matière organique labile sur les interactions entre le compartiment des décomposeurs et celui des producteurs primaires. Peu de résultats sont disponibles à ce jour et aucune conclusion définitive sur la réponse du PE n’est établie pour le moment. Cependant, on a pu mettre en évidence l’importance relative des flux de carbone en provenance des différents compartiments biotiques de nos systèmes. Une importante mixotrophie algale a ainsi été démontrée, nous amenant à reconsidérer le rôle des producteurs primaires dans la partie aquatique de la dynamique du cycle du carbone, et donc leur rôle potentiel dans le PE dans un contexte de réchauffement climatique et d’érosion des surfaces continentales. Des analyses complémentaires sur les échantillons stockés et une approche de modélisation en cours de développement permettront d’identifier les éventuelles singularités du PE en milieu aquatique par rapport au milieu terrestre. Sur son versant terrestre, cette thèse a permis de suggérer une démarche agroécologique de gestion des stocks de carbone dans les sols, ainsi que de mettre en évidence le rôle majeur de l’état de décomposition des résidus végétaux sur l’intensité du PE.
