Einfluss von Zeolith A auf die Futteraufnahme von trockenstehenden Milchkühen, auf den Mengen- und Spurenelementstoffwechsel im peripartalen Zeitraum sowie auf die Milchleistung in der folgenden Laktation | Influence of zeolite A supplementation during the dry period of dairy cows on feed intake, on the macro and trace element metabolism around calving and milk yield in the following lactation

The object of the present study was to determine the influence of zeolite A, a calcium binder from the group of the aluminosilicate, on feed intake, macro and trace element metabolism as well as the milk yield in the following lactation in dairy cows. 46 cows were allotted to 2 groups (A-control group and B-experimental group). They were fed a total mixed ration (TMR) ad libitum 2 weeks before calving. Additionally the cows in group B received 90 g zeolite A/kg dry matter (DM). The individually feed intake was registered daily. The serum was analysed for Ca, Mg, and P-i (inorganic phosphate), Fe, FFA (free fatty acid) and ss-HB (hydroxybutyrate) and the plasma for the trace elements Cu, Zn, and Mn. After calving the milk yield (FCM) and the milk composition (fat, protein, lactose and urea) were analysed. Feed intake of group B, amounting to 6,2 1,3 kg DM/d was around 48% lower as compared to 12,0 1,4 kg DM/d for group A. The zeolite addition into the TMR showed a stabilizing effect on the average Ca concentration in the serum around calving. This effect led to a significantly lower Mg concentration on the day of calving and 1 day post partum. The Pi concentration was significantly lower already after the 1(st) week of zeolite supplementation and on the day of calving as compared to group A. There was no essential effect of zeolite A on the trace element concentration. The depression of feed intake for group B led to a significant increase of FFA one week after beginning zeolite supplementation and of ss-HB around calving. The feed intake post partum as well as the milk yield were not affected by zeolite supplementation. Because decreased feed intake of group B after zeolite supplementation and the occurred hypophosphatemia, it is not acceptable to use zeolite A in the proved dose for preventing milk fever

In dieser Studie wurde der Einfluss von Zeolith A, einem Calciumbinder aus der Gruppe der Aluminiumsilikate, auf die Futteraufnahme, den Mengen- und Spurenelementstoffwechsel sowie die Milchleistung in der folgenden Laktation bei Milchkühen untersucht. Dazu wurden 46 Kühe in 2 Gruppen (A-Kontrollgruppe und B-Versuchsgruppe) eingeteilt. In den letzten 2 Wochen ante partum wurde den Tieren eine Totale Mischration (TMR) zur freien Aufnahme vorgelegt. Die Tiere der Gruppe B erhielten zusätzlich 90 g Zeolith A/kg Trockensubstanz (T). Die Futteraufnahme der Einzeltiere wurde täglich erfasst. Im Serum wurden die Konzentrationen von Ca, Mg und Pi (anorganisches Phosphat), Fe, FFS (freie Fettsäuren) und ß-HB (ß-Hydroxybutyrat) und im Plasma von Cu, Zn und Mn bestimmt. Nach der Kalbung wurden die Milchmenge (fettkorrigiert) und -inhaltsstoffe (Fett, Eiweiß, Laktose und Harnstoff ) bestimmt. Nach Einmischung von Zeolith A in die TMR war die mittlere Futteraufnahme in Gruppe B mit 6,2 ± 1,3 kg T/Tier/Tag um 48 % im Vergleich zu Gruppe A (12,0 ± 1,4 kg T/Tier/Tag) niedriger. Die Zeolithzulage zeigte eine stabilisierende Wirkung auf die Ca-Konzentration im Serum. Dieser Effekt führte am Kalbetag und 1 Tag post partum auch zu einer signifikant niedrigeren Mg-Konzentration. Des Weiteren war in Gruppe B bereits 7 Tage vor dem errechneten Kalbetermin bis zum Kalbetag eine signifikante Erniedrigung der Pi-Konzentration im Serum festzustellen. Kein wesentlicher Effekt von Zeolith A war auf die Spurenelementkonzentration festzustellen. Die verminderte Futteraufnahme der Tiere in Gruppe B führte zu einer signifikanten Erhöhung der Konzentration von FFS eine Woche nach Versuchsbeginn und von ß-HB zum Zeitpunkt der Kalbung. Nach der Kalbung waren die Futteraufnahme sowie die Laktationsleistung zwischen den Gruppen gleich. Aufgrund der stark herabgesetzten Futteraufnahme bei den Tieren in Gruppe B nach Zeolithzusatz und der aufgetretenen Hypophosphatämie ist ein Einsatz von Zeolith A in der eingesetzten Dosierung nicht vertretbar.
