ألمانية. Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions were countinuously measured by daily flux rate extimates for a three-years-period on a loamy silt soil. Conventional cropping practices were applied and rotational cropping of winter barley, sugar and winter wheat as the rotation of winter barley, winter rape and winter wheat were studied. N-fertilizer was applied as ammonia nitrate urea solution (AHL) in doses following local fertilizer recommendations to the according crops (N1.0), and at half of this dose (N0.5). Non-fertilized plots (N0.0) were included, too. From a total of 6600 flux rate estimates it could be deduced that the losses from winter rape varied from 1.4 - 4.0 kg N2O-N ha(-1) y(-1). In relation to fertilizer N-inputs losses accounted for 1.5-3.5 %. All these values were not significantly different from those found for the other crops. More than 50 % of the annual emissions occurred during winter with frost/thaw cycles. N-content in soil incorporated crop residues correlated positively with observed N-losses during winter.
