Bericht über den Einsatz von Betain statt Cholin in der Geflügelmast, ergänzt durch einige Beobachtungen mit einer lysinarmen Ration

ألمانية. Im ersten Abschnitt der Arbeit wird zusammenfassend über die Bedeutung von Cholin und Betain im Stoffwechsel der Tiere und in der Geflügelfütterung berichtet. Betain kann vor allem Cholin in dessen Eigenschaft als Methyldonator ersetzen. Anschließend folgt ein Bericht über die durchgeführten Versuche. In drei Versuchsreihen wurden insgesamt 2432 Arbor-Acres-Masteintagsküken eingesetzt. Der Cholinchlorid- bzw, Betainchlorhydratzusatz erfolgte sowohl zu einer Ration mit normalem Cholingehalt (1240 p.p.m.) als auch zu einer Cholinmangelration (885 p.p.m.). Der Cholinchloridzusatz wirkte sich in diesen Versuchen verbessernd auf die Gewichtsentwicklung aus. Die Futterverwertung blieb unbeeinflußt. Der Betainchlorhydratzusatz beeinflußte bei der Ration mit normalem Cholingehalt weder Gewichtsentwicklung noch Futterverwertung. Erst bei der Cholinmangelration zeigte sich bei dem Betainchlorhydratzusatz die Tendenz zu höheren Gewichtszunahmen, die allerdings nicht abgesichert werden konnte. Die Cholinmangehation hatte gleichzeitig einen zu geringen Lysingehalt, der in der ersten Versuchsreihe zu schlechten Gewichtszunahmen führte. In der zweiten und dritten Versuchsreihe wurden dann durch einen Lysinzusatz normale Gewichtszunahmen erzielt.

إنجليزي. In the first section of this paper the function of choline and betaine in the metabolism of the birds and in poultry feeding is discussed. Betaine can mainly replace choline in its capacity as a supplier of active methyl groups. Then the tests put through are reported. Altogether 2432 Arbor-Acres broiler chicks were employed in three test series. The choline chloride and betaine hydrochloride supplements respectively were added to a ration with a normal choline content (1240 ppm) as well as to a low-choline ration (885 ppm). In these tests the choline chloride supplement had an improving influence on weight gains. Feed efficiency was not influenced. In the ration with a normal choline content the supplement of betaine hydrochloride did neither influence weight gain nor feed efficiency but in the low-choline ration the betaine hydrochloride supplement showed a tendency to higher weight gains, although the differences were not significant. The low-choline ration also had a very low lysine content which resulted in low weight gains in the first experiment. By supplying lysine in the second and third test series normal weight gains were obtained.

فرنسي. La première partie du compte rendu résume et discute l'importance de choline et de bétaïne dans le métabolisme des animaux et dans le fourrage de la volaille. Bétaïne peut surtout remplacer choline dans sa qualité d'activateur en méthyle. Cette introduction est suivie d'un rapport sur les expérimentations faites à ce sujet. Dans trois séries d'expérimentation on a employé 2432 poussins-broilers Arbor Acres. Le supplément en chloride de choline respectivement en hydrochloride de bétaïne fut ajoute à la ration avec un contenu normal de choline (1240 ppm) ainsi qu'à une ration restreinte de cholin (885 ppm). Dans ces expérimentations le supplément en chloride de choline eut un effet améliorant sur le développement du poids. L'utilisation du fourrage ne fut pas influencée. Le supplément en hydrochloride de bétaïne n'influença dans la ration d'un contenu normal en choline ni le développement du poids ni l'utilisation du fourrage. Ce n'est que dans la ration d'un contenu restreint en choline que le supplément d'hydrochloride de bétaïne démontra une tendance vers de meilleures augmentations du poids. Cependant ce résultat ne peut pas être considère comme assure. La ration avec un supplément restreint en choline avait aussi un contenu en lysine insuffisant, ce qui provoqua dans la première série des expérimentations des augmentations du poids peu satisfaisantes. Dans la deuxième et la troisième série d'expérimentation an a ensuite obtenu des augmentations normales du poids par un supplément de lysine.
