ألمانية. Results and Status: Since July 2002, based on about 35,000 physicians' reports, 360 BfR caseshave been selected, prepared and processed with additional data. The casereports were written down in uniform documents, provided with keywords andadditional information, then assigned to an index word and translated intoEnglish. Until July 2004, the documents are recorded in a prototype databasedriven by MS Access. From September 2004 onwards, the case report databaseis implemented in the Federal Institute's intranet structure. At present, we arereviewing together with specialists in data protection whether the case recorddatabase can be opened for specialists.Additionally 210 case reports from literature were transferred as pdf. files to thesame database. Conclusion: The BfR Human Case Report Database became a very important tool in casecontrol, case comparison, accident categorization and accident prevention.Especially in e-learning in Germany, there is a great interest in case reports. E.g.the German Medical Journal intends to offer the case reports on poisonings tophysicians and students via its internet portal.
