Influência de fatores abióticos sobre os fungos Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (Lib.) de Bary e Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc

O ambiente é um dos fatores mais importantes na regulação de doenças de plantas, pois pode impedir a ocorrência mesmo quando hospedeiros suscetíveis e patógenos virulentos estão presentes na mesma área. No ambiente, os organismos associados às doenças de plantas destacam-se os fungos. Esses organismos produzem escleródios ou esporos, que resistem às condições ambientais adversas e permanecem viáveis na ausência de plantas hospedeiras. Dentre esses organismos destacam-se Sclerotinia sclerotiorum e Sclerotium rolfsii, conhecidos por causar podridão, esses fitopatógenos se caracterizam pela produção de escleródios, que podem permanecer viáveis no solo por vários anos. Portanto, o objetivo deste trabalho é avaliar o efeito da temperatura, fotoperíodo, umidade e adubação nitrogenada e potássica que influenciam no crescimento e na produção de escleródios dos fungos S. sclerotiorum e S. rolfsii da região de Curitibanos, Santa Catarina. Foram avaliados os efeitos de temperatura (5°C, 15°C, 25°C e 35°C) e fotoperíodo (0, 6, 12 e 18 horas de luz) através do cálculo da área abaixo da curva do crescimento micelial (AACCM) e do índice de velocidade de crescimento micelial (IVCM). Além disso foram avaliados a produção, formação e viabilidade dos escleródios produzidos por esses fungos nessas condições. Para avaliar o efeito da umidade (0, 66, 130 e 200 g de água/kg de solo), adubação nitrogenada (0, 8, 10, 12 e 15 mg/kg de solo) e adubação potássica (0, 20, 40, 80 e 160 mg/kg de solo) foi realizado a avaliação da taxa de germinação dos escleródios e o número de dias máximo para germinação de todos os escleródios. Verificou-se que o S. sclerotiorum na temperatura de 35 °C e o S. rolfsii na temperatura de 5 °C não apresentou crescimento micelial. O S. rolfsii na temperatura de 35 °C e no fotoperíodo de 0 e 6 de horas luz apresentaram maior média de AACCM (30,27 e 28,93). Além disso, os escleródios de S. rolfsii acondicionados em temperaturas de 35 °C, nos fotoperíodos de 6, 12 e 18 horas de luz induziram maior número de escleródios (460 escleródios). O crescimento micelial do fitopatógeno S. sclerotiorum na temperatura de 25 °C foi mais rápido (0,17 cm/h) em comparação aos outros tratamentos. Os diâmetros dos escleródios foram menores (1,952 mm e 2,182 mm) na temperatura de 5 °C associado aos fotoperíodos 0 e 6 horas de luz. A umidade do solo e adubação nitrogenada não afetou a germinação e o número de dias para germinação dos escleródios. De acordo com os resultados, os escleródios de S. rolfsii apresentaram em média 58,4 % de germinação no tratamento que não houve aplicação de potássio, enquanto aos outros tratamentos apresentaram mais de 80 % de germinação. Os escleródios de S. sclerotiorum submetidos a dose de 116,8 mg de KCl, tiveram períodos maiores para germinação dos escleródios (8 dias). Portanto, verificou-se nesse estudo que a temperatura, fotoperíodo e adubação por KCl, apresentaram efeito no desenvolvimento dos fungos S. sclerotiorum e S. rolfsii, sendo que esses dados poderão auxiliar trabalhos futuros para elaboração de estratégias para controle dessas doenças.

Abstract : The environment is one of the most important factors in the regulation of plant diseases, as it can preclude the occurrence even when susceptible hosts and virulent pathogens are present in the same area. In the environment, organisms associated with plant diseases stand out fungi. These organisms produce sclerotia or spores, which resist adverse environmental conditions and remain viable in the absence of host plants. Among these organisms stand out S. sclerotiorum and S. rolfsii, known to cause rot, these phytopathogens are characterized by the production of sclerotia, which can remain viable in the soil for several years. Therefore, the objective of this work is to evaluate the effect of temperature, photoperiod, moisture and nitrogen and potassium fertilization that influence the growth and sclerotia production of fungi S. sclerotiorum and S. rolfsii in the region of Curitibanos, Santa Catarina. The effects of temperature (5°C, 15°C, 25°C and 35°C) and photoperiod (0, 6, 12 and 18 light hours) were evaluated by calculating the area under the mycelial growth curve (AUMGC) and mycelial growth rate index (MGI). In addition, were evaluated the production, formation and viability of the sclerotia produced by these fungi under these conditions. To evaluate the effect of moisture (0, 66, 130 and 200 g of water/kg of soil), nitrogen fertilization (0, 8, 10, 12 and 15 mg/kg soil) and potassium fertilization (0, 20, 40 , 80 and 160 mg/kg of soil), was evaluated the germination rate of the sclerotia and the maximum number of days for germination of all sclerotia. It was verified that S. sclerotiorum at 35 °C and S. rolfsii at 5 °C did not show mycelial growth. The S. rolfsii at temperature in 35 °C and in the photoperiod of 0 and 6 of light hours presented a higher average of AUMGC (30.27 and 28.93). In addition, sclerotia of S. rolfsii conditioned at temperatures of 35°C, in photoperiods of 6, 12 and 18 hours of light induced a greater number of sclerotia (460 sclerotia). Mycelial growth of phytopathogen S. sclerotiorum at temperature in 25 °C was faster (0.17 cm/h) compared to the other treatments. The diameters of the sclerotia were smaller (1.952 mm and 2.182 mm) at the temperature of 5 °C associated with photoperiods 0 and 6 hours of light. Soil moisture and nitrogen fertilization did not affect the germination and number of days for germination of the sclerotia. According to the results, sclerotia of S. rolfsii presented on average 58.4% of germination in the treatment that did not apply potassium, while the other treatments presented more than 80% of germination. Sclerotia of S. sclerotiorum submitted to a dose of 116.8 mg of KCl had longer periods for germination of sclerotia (8 days). Therefore, it was verified in this study that the temperature, photoperiod and fertilization by KCl influenced the development of fungi S. sclerotiorum and S. rolfsii, and this data may help future work to elaborate strategies to control these diseases.
